Questions
How long do Renogy batteries last?
The LiFePO4 range is rated in the thousands of cycles, which at one full discharge a week is a decade or more. The realistic limit is usually the installation rather than the cell: how well it is protected from heat, cold and being run flat.
What does self-heating mean on a Renogy battery?
Lithium cells must not be charged below freezing without damage. A self-heating battery warms itself before accepting charge, which is the difference between a battery that works in a winter van and one that quietly degrades.
Can I use a Renogy battery with a portable power station?
Generally no, and this is the most common mix-up. Power stations use proprietary expansion packs. A Renogy 12V battery belongs in a wired system with its own inverter and charge controller.
